I love this about kids. They don't have to try to be themselves, because they are always themselves. For better or worse.
There are often things in our lives that once were alive, thriving, beneficial, and beautiful. We allow those things to continue to be a part of us, even after they are crispy, because they make us look good.
I have discovered that I can "do life" with the same person for years, and yet the relationship is constantly adapting and changing as we ourselves grow and transform.
We can so easily become entrapped in the mindset that all things are a battle of "secular vs. sacred" and forget that God is the orchestrator of it all.
